Rules of Nucleophilic Additions to Zigzag Nanographene Diones**

چکیده
Nucleophilic addition of carbon-centered nucleophiles to nanographene ketones represents a valuable late-stage method for the functionalization zigzag nanographenes, but its use is rare in chemical literature. Using two model systems, non-Kekulé triangulene-4,8-dione and Kekulé anthanthrone, we identify unexpected regioselectivities uncover rules that govern these reactions. Considering large number have been reported since pioneering work Eric Clar, this enables synthesis exploration hitherto unknown functionalized nanographenes.

Tuning Charge and Spin Excitations in Zigzag Edge Nanographene Ribbons
Graphene and its quasi-one-dimensional counterpart, graphene nanoribbons, present an ideal platform for tweaking their unique electronic, magnetic and mechanical properties by various means for potential next-generation device applications. However, such tweaking requires knowledge of the electron-electron interactions that play a crucial role in these confined geometries. Here, we have investi...
متن کاملNucleophilic 1,4-Additions for Natural Product Discovery
Natural products remain an important source of drug candidates, but the difficulties inherent to traditional isolation, coupled with unacceptably high rates of compound rediscovery, limit the pace of natural product detection. Here we describe a reactivity-based screening method to rapidly identify exported bacterial metabolites that contain dehydrated amino acids (i.e., carbonyl- or imine-acti...
متن کاملAdditions to the rust mycobiota of Iran
In the present study, two species of rosaceous rust fungi are reported from Iran. Ochropsora ariae is newly reported for Iranian rust mycobiota. This is the first report of a member of the genus Ochropsora from Iran. Kuehneola uredinis is reported for the second time from Iran since its first report in 1958 under the name K. albida. Pyrus boissieriana</em...
متن کاملAcid-catalyzed nucleophilic additions to carbonyl groups: is the accepted mechanism the rule or an exception?
The transesterification reaction, and in particular the methanolysis of ethyl acetate with sulfuric acid as catalyst, is used as a model reaction to study the acid-catalyzed nucleophilic addition to a carbonyl group. Continuum solvation methods (SMD and IEF-PCM) and the MPWB1K functional are used. The reaction mechanism is studied in methanol and in acetonitrile as solvents. Our results indicat...
متن کاملAdditions to the knowledge of the genus Geastrum in Iran
Fungi belonging to the genus Geastrum are known as earth stars due to different layers with specific alignment in fruit-bodies. In this paper four species of the genus Geastrum viz. G. coronatum, G. rufescens, G. saccatum and G. schmidelii were reported as new for Iran. Previously reported specimen, G. corollinum (as G. recolligens)was newly collected and was studied in details. Newly reported ...
